For a long time the Can LPs only circulated as bootlegs, now the official vinyl reissues are finally available via Spoon Records! The limited first release of the album appeared in August 1969 on the Music Factory label under the name THE CAN. The second release, with new artwork as we know it today, took place on Liberty Records the following year. The album was recorded in Nörvenich Castle with Can's first singer Malcolm Mooney. The band's album debut combined elements of a wide variety of styles from psychedelic rock, blues, fairy jazz and world music. The use of improvisation, editing and layering of different sounds set the standard for all subsequent Can albums!
